Throughout his career, Gus has worked as a professional musician in Scotland and England.
He trained as a classical pianist but is able to play in a wide range of different styles from jazz to popular.
He studied piano with Audrey Innes from St Mary's Music School in Edinburgh and David Parkhouse from london.
He worked for the Entertainment Agency in Edinburgh for many years performing in Hotels and other major events including the Scottish open golf at Gleneagles, also as a session musician with Billy Mackenzie from the band, The Associates, and was accompanist for the folk singer Mary Sandeman playing at the Assembly rooms, the Brunton theatre and folk clubs He has also accompanied Rowan Atkinson and friends at private functions. He currently plays in a jazz quartet, accompanies singers, deps for bands, plays for various shows including Edinburgh College reviews and performs concerts for Music in Hospitals. Gus has performed at many Edinburgh College shows since 2011. Most recent show was side by side by Sondheim.
He also plays accordion, guitar, clarinet and organ.
